WESTERN AREA VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP STRUGGLE FOR SPONSORSHIP

The Western Area Volleyball Clubs Championship is struggling  to get sponsors for their ongoing volleyball  league.


The Championship which comprise of four male and female teams in the Western Area commenced on the 10th of February, and will end on 10th May 2024.


The Secretary General of Western Area Volleyball Association Karifa Kello Thoronka expressed that they  are still in negotiations with potential sponsors and that  they hope to seal a deal before the end of the tournament in May 2024.


He went on to  encourage business houses and individuals to supports volleyball as the game is bringing laurels to the Country.


Whiles responding to Pressmen, the Public Relation Officer of the Sierra Leone Volley ball Association Ansumana Bangura pleaded with sports Journalist to put more efforts in reporting volleyball activities in the country as it will encourage potential sponsors. Ansumana emphasized on the low turnout of spectators in this year’s Championship compared to previous competitions,


“as an association we need to effectively focus on increasing publicity for our ongoing championship to get more spectators onboard” he stated


President of the Sierra Leone Volleyball Association Nyawulu Koroma appreciated previous sponsors of the Western Area Clubs Championship specifically Premium Divine Trading for their support and pleaded with other the companies come onboard as sponsors.
