TRAGEDY HITS SIERRA LEONE FOOTBALL


A Football team bus travelling with players of Sierra Leone Premier League side Ports Authority involved in a fatal accident which led to the death of their Head Coach Lamin Bangura as well leaving others in critical condition.


The team was travelling from the Capital on Tuesday 26th March 2024, to honor a Sierra Leone Premier League fixture against Kahunla Rangers in Kenema when the ugly incident occured along the Freetown Mile 91 high way.


According a statement from the club coach Bangura’s dedication and passion has left an indelible on the team and that his loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The club’s management has pledge its full support to all injured players and technical staff during this difficult times.


“the Authority will continue to provide full care (medication and otherwise) needed as you navigate through this period of mourning and pain” club statement confirmed


The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has also pledge to offer support to the club and as well sympathize with the management and fans of Sierra Ports Authority Football Club.
