KENEMA POLICE DECLARE MAMUD SHERIFF WANTED

Reports reaching this medium indicate that the Sierra Leone Police have declared Mamud Sheriff wanted for his alleged involvement in an illegal political gathering in Blama Village twelve Miles from Kenema.

According to reports Sheriff and several other colleagues attended a political gathering in Blama Village on the outskirts of Kenema which the police did not permit to hold. As a result of this several of his colleagues Sao Lamin, Amidu Turay, Joe Koroma, and Isaac Lahai were arrested and are currently on trial as they have been denied bail.


According to the police Mamud Sheriff narrowly escaped when the arrest was being made and his whereabouts are presently unknown. The matter is still in court and those arrested have been denied bail by the magistrate.

he Police have placed a hefty ransom for members of the public who will give information on the whereabouts of Mamud Sheriff as he is presently on the run.


The main opposition party has described the action of the police as unconstitutional.
