Head of Sierra Leone’s Mortuary Mr. Sinneh Kamara has confirmed to this medium that on Thursday 14th March 2024 they have buried 32 bodies collected across streets of Freetown believed to be KUSH victims.
He added that as team they were able to determine their cause of death as a result of the signs on their bodies especially swollen feets which is a common thread among these addicts.
Mr. Kamara outlined that the Thirty-Two bodies buried, comprise of Seven females and Twenty-Five males all of whom have been buried at the Kingtom cemetery West end of Freetown.
He disclosed that they were able to lay these bodies to rest with support from BARRIE HELP FOUNDATION a Local Non-Governmental entity operating in Freetown.
This harmful drug is posing a serious threat not only on the lives of young Sierra Leoneans but the future of our beloved nation.
The fight against drug abuse and addiction is an ongoing battle that requires the collective effort of individuals, communities, and governments. Promising young souls are going at a rapid rate. We call on all stakeholders to assist in eradication of these interdicted drugs.
The fight against illicit drugs and drug abuse is a daunting task, however, government and well meaning Sierra Leoneans should be resilient in the fight against drug trafficking.
The hope of our beloved nation rest on our young generation, therefore,let us all join hands together to kick illicit drugs out of mama Salone!!!
