Turbo Solar Lights Up Sierra Leone with UNDP Boost

Turbo Solar Consultancy is fast becoming a national success story in Sierra Leone’s renewable energy sector, thanks to strategic support from the UNDP’s Growth Accelerator Programme. Since receiving a major boost in 2022, the company has expanded its reach and impact, bringing clean, sustainable energy solutions to communities nationwide.

From powering remote events through mobile solar units to lighting homes, offices, and critical infrastructure like police repeater sites, Turbo Solar is delivering real change, one solar panel at a time.

With support from the UNDP, Turbo Solar has made remarkable progress:

·       Installed 13 community solar charging stations

·       Expanded its workforce from 4 to 13 full-time staff

·       Invested in staff education in renewable energy technologies

·       Fulfilled tax obligations and made strategic long-term investments

·       Earned the Golden Award for Best Solar Company in Sierra Leone

Speaking during a recent site visit by UNDP Resident Representative, Fredrick Ampiah, CEO Augustine Foyoh reaffirmed the company’s mission:

“To make clean, reliable energy accessible to all, and to train the next generation to do the same.”
